Terrasil products are designed to be safe and effective, but here are some important precautions and practical tips for best results:
- Fabric care: Some ointments are rich in natural oils and may stain fabrics, especially light-colored clothing, bedding, or towels. If you cannot cover the area with a bandage, allow about 10–15 minutes for absorption before fabric contact.
- Sun exposure: When applied to exposed skin (like the face, hands, or nails), ointments may temporarily darken skin or nails if exposed to prolonged direct sunlight. To reduce this effect:
- Apply at night when possible.
- Wash off in the morning.
- Use sunblock during the day and avoid direct sun when you can.
- Private areas: If using a product in the vaginal or groin area, consider wearing a panty liner or other protective garment to prevent fabric staining or residue transfer.
- Nail applications: Strong antifungal formulas may cling to infected nails, sometimes leaving a dark residue. This clears naturally as healthy nail grows in.
- Texture & residue: Rich ointments may feel thicker than a lotion. This is intentional — it helps the product stay in place on skin. Any temporary residue is a normal part of use.
