Grover's rash, or transient acantholytic dermatosis, is a skin condition that produces intensely itchy red patches and raised lesions. Grover's symptoms appear most often on the back and chest and may also include groupings of small blisters. Although there is no known cause, sufferers report flare-ups after exposure to extreme heat or cold. The condition can affect people of all ages, but is most common in men over the age of 40. Those with a history of excessive perspiration or prolonged sun exposure are more prone to Grover's.
