How to Control Vaginal Odor

Femmesil Ultra Therapy Ointment

Let’s face it: vaginal odor is embarrassing. The fishy odor that you smell down there is a result of an overgrowth of bad bacteria and yeast cells in the vagina. When you are struggling with an infection, this smell can be persistent and really throw you off track.

Instead of hiding out until the smell has gone away, you can take control of the situation. There are a number of natural remedies that can help you to control and eliminate odor for good.

  • Remain hydrated! Drink plenty of water – at least 8 to 10 glasses per day – to help the body rid of bad toxins and bacteria.
  • Turn to yogurt. Yogurt is rich in what is called lactobacillus, which can help restore a healthy vaginal pH level. Aim for 2 cups of unsweetened yogurt daily if you are suffering from an infection.
  • White vinegar can be used as a rinse to clear up the odor. Add a half cup of white vinegar and salt to a lukewarm bath and allow your body to relax and soak for a few minutes.
  • The above tip can also be done with apple cider vinegar, as it is a natural anti-bacterial.
  • Avoid using scented soap whenever you can, as it can both irritate and add to the infection.
  • Cut out as much sugar as you can. Sugar can actually play a big role in vaginal odor, so it is best to cut back.
  • Add some citrus to your diet. Fruits high in vitamin C can help remove toxins that add to odor.
