10. Embrace Oil
Oil-based moisturizers offer extra hydration, that just can’t be beat during the drier months of winter. Look for a daily moisturizer with jojoba seed oil. It has the ability to keep skin soothed and soft even in the harshest climates.

9. Get Glowing
Exfoliation throughout the year is important to keep your skin looking and feeling its best. Skipping this step can lead to clogged pores and a dull complexion. Once or twice a week shower with exfoliating gloves and a natural scrub. Follow this up with a rich body moisturizer.

8. Happy Hydration
You skin needs extra TLC when it is experiencing dry conditions. To avoid the itch and flakes that come with overly-dry skin use natural coconut oil as your go-to body moisturizer.

7. Steam it Up
If you struggle with dry skin or nasal passages, and humidifier will help you body feel hydrated by adding moisture to the air.

6. Take it Tepid
Avoid extra hot showers- the heat will dry the skin. If you feel nauseous while showering or your skin is red after the shower, the water temperature is too high.

5. Dine with Vitamin D
Vitamin D plays an important part in immune health. The sun is a big contributor when it comes to helping our bodies naturally manufacture vitamin D. Avoid the slump from lack of vitamins by taking a supplement or a daily multivitamin.

4. Protect Your Paws
Dry, cracked hands are painful and sometimes not so attractive. Wearing gloves will protect the hands from the naturally harsh environment of winter.

3. Luscious Lips
Keep your lips looking their best by exfoliating them every other week. Apply lip balm throughout the day and especially before bed. Lip balm before bed will help lips replenish hydration while you sleep.

2. Ward-off the Rays
The sun may not shine for as many hours, or seem strong during winter, but the need for SPF continues. Prevent premature aging and skin cancer by applying SPF all year.

1. Wet your Whistle
Stay hydrated by drinking at least eight- 8 ounce glasses of water each day. It is normal not to feel as thirsty in dry winter months, but the body still needs water to keep “all systems GO!”

Winter happens every year. Don’t let the harsh conditions ruin your season, use these tips. Share any advice you may have when dealing with winter skin.
