War on Warts: How to Treat a Wart

May 28th, 2014 | Warts

Let’s face it: The common wart is extremely annoying! Back in the day, you may have fallen for the old saying that frogs and toads are the cause of warts. In reality, warts are actually passed along from human-to-human. Whether you have shaken someone’s hand or used a hand towel infected with the virus, you could be at risk for a wart in your future. Most people will have at LEAST one common wart in their lifetime, so there is no need to feel ashamed!

If a wart has finally found its way to you, do not panic! There are a number of ways to treat warts. Just remember to act fast, since warts can spread if they are not taken care of.

Let’s take a quick look at what can be done…

  • Salicylic-acid treatment is designed to dissolve a wart and the thick layer of dead skin around it.
  • Believe it or not—duct tape! Duct tape can be used to smother the virus. If you are going to go this route, you will need to leave it in place at all times. You can remove it for a couple hours per week, but is must be replaced frequently until the wart is completely gone.
  • A wart removal stick may be all you need to avoid dealing with freezing, burning, or surgery.

Before you know it, your wart will disappear and you can get on with your wonderful life. Remember—warts happen more often than you may believe. We are here to help you get through these rough times!
