Take Care of You: Plan, Plan, Plan!

December 3rd, 2011 | Self Improvement

There’s nothing worse than having to go to the mall anytime near the holidays. Every year it seems like everyone has waited until the last minute to do any of their shopping.

Planning ahead can save you from a lot of unnecessary stress. Each day gets shorter and shorter as you get closer to the holidays so if you don’t have a plan of attack, you’ll be wasting huge amounts of energy, time and brain power trying to make sure you’ve remembered everything — this can quickly lead to aggravation that will just suck all the fun and joy out of the season.

So whether you need to make lists, create a holiday “to-do” calendar or simply delegate tasks to other members of the family, set a plan for whatever you can. That way, you can sit back, relax and not think about everything that needs to get done.

Tip from Aidance Fans

“Put a sign up near you reminding you to keep on track. As dumb as it sounds it kept my dumb ass in check.” — Bobby

“I try to get all of my shopping done way before christmas. I also keep a “gift log” so i can remember what I bought everyone and stay within my budget. — Kaitlyn

“My biggest issue during the holidays is knowing that I have to be a thousand places in a short amount of time, and I want to please everyone. To combat the feeling of rush and anxiety, I try to plan everything well ahead of time and cross off a list as I get things done. That way, I can try to focus on the moment and enjoy the time I’m spending with others, rather than stress over what’s next on the agenda.” — Tanner
