Smoothie of the Month: Sweet Peach

Mmm… we know you have been patiently waiting for another smoothie of the month! This month, we are feeling peachy. This delicious summer fruit is not only packed with vitamin A & C, but also fiber to keep you fuller, longer.

So without further adieu…

The Recipe

  • 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice (This will call for about 3-4 oranges!)
  • 1 fresh peach
  • 1 fresh nectarine
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp agave (to sweeten)
  • ½ cup greek yogurt

Mix it all together for your tasty (and pretty) peach smoothie!

The Health Benefits

Ah, the health benefits. There are two ingredients here that we are going to focus on. First of course, the peach, followed by apple cider vinegar!


  • Vitamins A & C make for a great natural moisturizer because they can help regenerate skin tissue.
  • The vitamin C in peaches boosts the production of collagen to help give your skin elasticity.
  • The protein in peaches can help contribute towards skin repair. When alongside vitamin C, it can also help improve your immune system (this helps ward off skin infections!)
  • Selenium plays an important role in the prevention of some types of skin cancer. Fortunately, peaches have it!
  • According to research, peaches have both antimicrobial and antioxidant activity that can help inhibit tumor growth.

Apple Cider Vinegar

  • Apple cider vinegar can help reduce inflammation when it comes to skin problems, such as psoriasis and eczema.
  • Studies have found that apple cider vinegar may have an effect on blood sugar levels, helping those with type 2 diabetes.
  • Another study found that vinegar may help kill cancer cells and slow their growth.
