OBSERVATION: Rosacea Awareness Month

April 21st, 2015 | Rosacea

Did you know that April is observed as National Rosacea Awareness Month? This observation is celebrated to shed light on rosacea, and bring awareness to those who may not be familiar with this chronic disorder.

According to the National Rosacea Society, rosacea affects more than 16 million Americans. Unfortunately, many individuals who have rosacea may not understand that, if left untreated, symptoms can persist and worsen over time. It can become increasingly severe, which is why it is important to spread the word. There is no reason to be embarrassed by this condition – you are certainly not alone!

If you want to get involved this month, there are a number of ways to do so. Here are just a few ideas:

  • Promote Rosacea Awareness Month via Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets. Spread the word!
  • Do you blog? Write a post about rosacea and share it with friends and family.
  • Donate to NRS to support medical research.
  • Reach out to a loved one if you believe they are suffering from rosacea.
  • Organize a charity event, such as a run or walk, with proceeds to NRS.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to get involved. We encourage you to do so!
