The Recipe

  • This recipe will yield 4-dozen cookies
  • Preheat oven to 375 F

You will need:

  • Hershey’s Kisses – about 50 will do!
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbs milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups flour (white or wheat – your preference!)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt

To make:

  • While oven is heating up, remove wrappers from all Hershey’s Kisses (if you have kids, lucky you! Enlist them for some help.)
  • In a large bowl, beat together shortening and peanut butter until smooth.
  • Add both sugars and beat until fluffy.
  • Add egg, milk, vanilla until smooth.
  • In a separate small bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
  • If you have extra granulated sugar, roll balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Baked cookies for about 8-10 minutes (or until lightly browned) and immediately press Kiss into the center of the cookie.
  • Cool completely and enjoy!
