It’s always a relief to leave an acne breakout behind, but sometimes those breakouts leave scarring. Acne scarring is something that many people have to deal with, and to prevent it, avoid picking at blemishes. This can open the skin up to bacteria and infection, and creates healing difficulty.
Fortunately, there are ways to remove acne scars naturally, and you don’t have to worry about them anymore!
There are many acne scarring creams and ointments available, but there are also a few natural home remedies for acne scars, and one of those is applying lemon juice! (Bonus: lemon juice is also a great natural toner.)
As a precaution: If your skin is overly sensitive, you’ll probably want to test this remedy on a small area of your skin, or avoid this acne scar treatment completely. Here’s the step by step process for clearing up your acne scars using lemon juice:
And that’s it! That’s all it takes to use lemon juice for acne scars. There are a few variations on this acne scar treatment — some people leave it on overnight, and some dilute the lemon juice with honey or water. You can repeat the treatment every night before bed, but be sure to stop if it’s drying out or irritating your skin. Should this happen, explore the many other acne scarring treatments out there.
