June 25th, 2014 | Fitness, Fun, Nutrition and Health, Seasonal

The weather is fine! Have you been outdoors enjoying it? Whether you stay-at-home with your kids or tend to plan weekend fun, there is always something to do outside. As a parent, you may want to plan both active and educational activities. Fortunately for you, we are here to share a few activities that incorporate one or the other.

1. Family Bike Ride

Get active with the whole family by going on a bike ride. Whether you ride around the neighborhood or take everyone to a park or path, you will all be getting those heart rates up while enjoying each other’s company.

2. Trip to the Zoo

This is not only fun for all ages, but is a great way to incorporate educational pieces and tid-bits about wildlife. The best part? Most local zoos are inexpensive for a day pass!

3. Scavenger Hunt

Take your hunt to your backyard or even a local park. Create cards that include clues incorporating trivia (choose whatever subject you may be working on with your children) and let them go on the hunt. Make sure there are prizes, too!

4. Mini Golf
Another activity that is fun for all ages! Mini golf is a great game that gives you the opportunity to educate on the importance of good sportsmanship.

5. Visit a State Park

Hiking, anyone? This is also a great opportunity to share some local history and fun facts with your little ones.

Are you ready to take advantage of the warm weather? Start planning and get everyone on board for some quality time!

Is there something that your family does for fun? We’d love to hear your idea. Please share with us on Twitter!
