Eye Skin Care Tips

September 17th, 2014 | Skin care

Did you know that the skin around your eyes is much thinner than the skin on the rest of your face? Did you know that it is also the first areas where most people show aging?

Our eyes are a beautiful part of who we are, expressing emotion and individuality. If you do not learn how to take care of this delicate area of your face, you may notice that lines, wrinkles, and “crow’s feet” come along much sooner than later.

This week, we have eye skin care tips to share with you. Adding these tips to your skin care routine can benefit you in the long run.

  • Choose an oil-free product to use around your eyes. Why? Those with oil may clog the thin skin and could cause a number of issues down the line, including styes.
  • Use an eye cream or moisturizer that can help reduce fine lines.
  • Use an eye serum to help tighten the delicate skin around the eyes.
  • Always use a cotton ball when taking off make-up or applying treatment to your eyes. You never want to be harsh on this area of skin.

Aside from your skin care regime, you should also practice the following to protect your eyes from damage…

  • Wear sunglasses to avoid overexposure to the sun
  • Quit smoking (if you currently smoke)
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to enhance skin elasticity
  • Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep to avoid dark circles

Such a sensitive area must be treated with delicacy. Take care of your eyes now and they will take care of you later down the line!
