5 Healthy H2O Concoctions

By now, you know just how important it is to drink water. You’ve heard it all… including the bit about drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day.

Water is not only critical for the proper functioning of every organ and bodily system, but helps to flush out toxins in the body. The benefits of drinking water are endless.

But hey – plain old water can get boring for some, which is one of the main reasons why individuals do not get enough of it. Instead of grabbing juice the next time you are looking for a change in taste, try jazzing up your water. There are plenty of delicious recipes available – and we have five, right here!

NOTE: All recipes should be combined in a large pitcher and left in the fridge for a few hours. The longer the concoction sits in the fridge, the stronger the flavor will be!

#1: Citrus Cooler

  • 2 liters of water
  • 1 sliced lemon
  • 1 sliced lime
  • 1 sliced orange

#2: Berries & Lime

  • 2 liters water
  • 2 sliced limes
  • 1 handful fresh raspberries
  • 1 handful fresh strawberries

#3: Refresh Yourself

  • 2 liters of water
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 medium lemon, sliced thin
  • 12 small spearmint leaves

#4: Pineapple Mint

  • 2 liters water
  • 1 sprig of mint (or just the leaves… bruise to release flavor)
  • 1 cup pineapple

#5: Melonberry

  • 2 liters water
  • 1 handful watermelon
  • 1 handful cantaloupe
  • 1 handful honeydew
  • 1 handful strawberries

Remember to press fruits down in the pitcher to release juices before adding ice and chilling.
